Over 200 mouthwatering recipes - fresh from the farm

I'm Dawn Stoltzfus. Welcome to my kitchen! I was raised on a Mennonite farm where simple, wholesome food was a key ingredient of the good life. Now I'm opening up my recipe box, wiping away the crumbs and wrinkles from the well-loved recipe cards, and sharing them with you. From Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls and Strawberry Shortcake to Old-Fashioned Beef Stew and Chicken and Herb Dumplings, all the best comfort foods I learned to cook from my mother are here, along with some dishes that may surprise you!

In addition to the simple, wholesome recipes for starters, main dishes, sides, and desserts, I share favorite stories from my Mennonite upbringing, tips and tricks for easy meal planning and preparation, and ideas for serving with flair.

If you enjoy feeding your family hearty, wholesome meals made with fresh ingredients and lots of love, please join me in the kitchen!

This Author is my kind of gal! I also grew up in a farming community where most had dirt under their fingernails and a hearty appetite at the end of the day. We grew up enjoying my mother's big hearty meals with all the fixins'. Now, I live in a big city but our family is still able to have a couple laying hens, dogs, and cats (our version of a rural lifestyle).

Who wouldn't salivate over Baked Mushroom, and Cheese Chicken or a Chocolate Mocha Cream Puff? You'll enjoy the many varieties of dishes to prepare in this cookbook, which include several slow cooker recipes, along with soups and scrumptious breads. Be sure to take advantage of the Simple Do-It-Yourself section of this cookbook and save a few dollars by making your own cream soups, easy fruit and vegetable rinse, or pancake mix. The perk of doing so, is you control what ingredients go into it for a healthier option for your family.

Since our family luvs homemade bread and muffins, I chose to try the Honey Cinnamon Butter recipe. Super easy and delicious, it's a yummy hit in our household, especially on warm cornbread!

Directions:

Take 1 lb. salted butter, softened, 1/2 C honey and 1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix butter, honey, and cinnamon until thoroughly combined. Place into a container and enjoy! It will keep up to 4 months in the refrigerator.

You will connect with Dawn by her "sprinkling" of inspiring personal thoughts and helpful cooking tips throughout the book. I highly recommend this simple but wholesome food cookbook! You're sure to discover a few new "favorites".

About the Author..

Dawn Stoltzfus is a wife, a mother of two sweet little boys, and a lover of anything creative. She started and ran The Farmer's Wife Market until 2008 when she sold it in order to stay at home to raise her family. She loves to cook, for one or three hundred, and sees cooking and entertaining as an opportunity to "be Jesus to people" and serve them out of love and joy rather than out of a sense of obligation. Her love for cooking was inspired by her mother and developed as she cooked for her family of six on their active, working dairy farm in Ohio.
