In this adventurous chapter book, Andi is introduced to one of the many "tough-to-swallow" life lessons. Her mother has made up her mind that Taffy needs to be weaned from her mother, Snowflake and her brother, Chad needs her help in accomplishing this. Luckily, her friend Riley, is there for support.
Andi perks up when she finds out that she can spend the whole day with Taffy. While Riley and Andi were out riding and Taffy was trotting along with them, Riley decided to rope a calf and in the midst of all the chaos, Taffy trots along and spots her mother, Snowflake. Over the fence she went and started to nuzzle at her mother. Knowing her brother would be very upset, Andi with Riley's help tie up Snowflake and lead her back to her own pasture. Then they led Taffy into the barn. She soon was kicking the stall door and whinnying for her mother. It was getting late and soon Taffy would be all alone. Chad assured Andi that the first night would be the hardest for Taffy and then gradually it would get better.
However, when the bully, Johnny told her that weaning can either make a foal hurt or even kill it, all Andi wanted to do was check on Taffy and make sure she was fine. While in the barn, Andi noticed a large scrape on Taffy's leg. Was it true what Johnny had told her? Should she return Taffy to her mother?
In this, the fifth book of the series, Circle C Beginnings, your child will gently learn that life isn't all peaches and cream but with God's help we can handle all situations. And~ Sometimes, things do work out for the best.
